Contemplation of the morning by lorrainemd Contemplation of the morning by lorrainemd
I wanted to create an image that had the feel of a study for a classical painting. I also wanted to capture the slight feeling of an unnatural stillness that many of these pieces oft exhibited.

It seems tthat he more i delve into photographty, the more i revisit my self-taught classical art historical studies. And the more I want to pay homage to the masters which have taught and inspired throughout the ages.

Natural light

That is a picture I would love to see framed and hanging in some Contemporary art museum that you just know the pieces within it are going to become as big as The Mona Lisa one day.

Good Job!

Good classical image. 'Missing that "shot of color" that the masters woul throw in to keep it from being monochromatic. Very nice.

absolutly beautiful, reminds me of shakespeare in a way, full of meaning and depth and time, but still has a taste of moderness to it.

It's funny how a lot of Americans (sorry to generalize here) are into those old-world old-masters paintings, while I, who is from the country that brought you the likes of Rembrandt and Vermeer, am completely and utterly bored by it. As a reference I am more into (post)modern stuff, like Kandisky or Pollock.
I think those old painting were just pure and simple portraits, like the ones we now have made at a photography stand in the supermarket.
This is no criticism (to you or your work), just stating an observation I made over the years.

As for this picture, I really like the textures and tones of the fabric and the contrast between the fabrics and the darker surroundings.
