Artist's Comments

I wanted to create an image that had the feel of a study for a classical painting. I also wanted to capture the slight feeling of an unnatural stillness that many of these pieces oft exhibited.

It seems tthat he more i delve into photographty, the more i revisit my self-taught classical art historical studies. And the more I want to pay homage to the masters which have taught and inspired throughout the ages.

I think you did a great job here. Everything is arranged beautifully, making for an interesting composition. You certinly achieved what you described. Beautiful tones and lovely textures are very pleasing to the eye, just like a painting.

I love the fabrics in this--very luxurious, and they provide great textures for the shot.

Yeah, it has a kind of 'vintage' feeling. I really like it!

I am always impressed by your work, but I particularly loved the one with the cupboard that was reminiscent of the Dutch oil paintings. It's wonderful to see another piece of the same style. I see the make and model of the camera you used, and yet even with the same tool I could never hope to get this kind of effect. This is beautiful even without the blurry softness because of the composition - the billowing cloth against the satiny sheen of your dress. And on a further note: I envy you that gorgeous room. :)
