The AncientBeauty of HalongBayby ~lorrainemd

Taken on a boat ride in Vietnam's Halong Bay. There are over 3000 islands rising from the beautiful green waters over an area of 1500 square kilometers. The mountain-like formations in the distance are made of limestone and many are hallowed out allowing for cave exploration.
The boats and junks sail peacefully over these waters just as they did over 100 years ago. I felt as if I was transported back in time on this glorious day...so I tried capturing this old feel with this picture of the bay and boat lead by the wooden dragon at its head.

this is currently on my top 10 list of places to visit. do you know the legend of the dragon and the jewels that goes with the islands? i can't quite remember, but this is a beautiful capture of the bay.

it is very difficult to take some pictures from Halong Bay, a lot of time, there is fog and rain......

when the time is clear, now it is quite impossible to take a very clean focus, because the pollution is more important.......

this is fantastic....
obviously it's nice as-is but cropping out the other elements of the boat besides the dragon head would be even cooler.... in mu humble opinion.
